When will the Univeristy of South Carolina and it's fans get it right? what don't you understand about how badly they play and are being coached currently? so you are happy with a win over a subpar Clemson team, enjoy it, because a miscoached and undisciplined team like the one that showed up at the Papa Johns bowl will barely win a game next year.
Is there any fans that remember how bad the coaching calls were against a then No.1 LSU team in Baton Rouge? are your memories that short to realize the gamecocks could won that game in LSU if it weren't for inept coaching decisions. So fast forward to this years bowl game, it is 4th and 1,Trailing 7-0, South Carolina coach Steve spurrier gambled and elected to go for it on fourth-and-1 from his own 32. In College football there is such a thing called momentum and in this case and the one in LSu we lost it.
Steve Spurrier had his day, as a player and a coach, but Steve Spurrier is not the Universitie answer to bigtime football. Sometimes in life you can't always buy the best, but you can find the best. In Gamecock lore, the years of Carlen and Rogers were some of the most disciplined and hard working teams. The current crop of Gamecocks are losely bound, commit personal fouls on the whim and most fans read the paper wondering who got arrested last night. let's get back to hard nose hard working kids who want to play football, not padded superstars who think they are great and coached by a former good coach.
