The South Carolina Gamecocks defeat the Coastal Carolina Channticleers two Games straight to earna berth to The College World Series in Omaha Nebraska
In one war of a game under the sweltering South Carolina Sun and heat, Christian Walker smacked a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth and Matt Price pitched a solid strike filled ninth as South Carolina returns to The College World Series for the first time since 2005. Sundays game is one of those games where there should haven't of been a loser, both sides played their hearts out. However, Coastal Carolina let the Gamecocks back in with careless errors and a 2 out walk in the eighth that led to the Walker home run. The game seesawed from the begining as the Gamecocks continued scratching back every time the Chanticleers tried to pull away. The Gamecocks are 48-15 on the year while Coastal Carolina ends their season with a 55-10 record. The super regional hosted by Coastal at BB&T Coastal Field, exhibited some of the best in college baseball the past two days. In Saturdays game Blake Cooper worked seven innings and only gave up six hits with Matt Price closing the door. The gamecocks swept their regional and now have swept the super regional.
